THINGS TO DO
It's the simple pleasures that make
memories for people in small communities, and Latimer delivers those
in spades.
Golf - You can enjoy a round of golf at our 9-hole short
course and a beverage and meal in the club house afterward.
Join the men's league (they play on Thursdays) or women's league
(you'll find them out on Tuesdays) - new members are always welcome.
Not a member? Not to worry - you can buy a round of golf too.
Interested in Disc Golf? Our neighbors across the road in
Coulter have a terrific course in their City Park. Players are
always welcome.

Camping & Fishing
Latimer residents head to Beed's Lake for
boating and fishing. A full-service campground (including
full-service restrooms) attract visitor's from all over. Pan fish
are plentiful most of the time and kids really enjoy the pedal
boats. Every spring
the County Conservation sponsors a Kid's Fishing Day. Parents
and their
kids team up for a memorable day.
Franklin County has many different parks and recreation areas for
your family to enjoy.
Latimer Fun Day
Scheduled for the last Saturday in July, Latimer's Fun Day is
classic small town fun with events for the kids, a parade and
community picnic. 2007
will see Latimer celebrating their 125th Birthday! A host of
activities are being planned for that special event.
Youth Softball and Baseball
There's nothing like the crack of the bat
and a ball soaring over the fence to get a parent's blood going,
especially when it's their child who made the hit. But whether it's
family, friend or neighbor, Latimer shows great support for the CAL
Cadets teams. Games are almost nightly in the summer.
